Apple officially announced the MacBook Neo on March 4, 2026. It is a new, budget-focused entry in the Mac lineup, positioned below the MacBook Air with a starting price of $599 (or $499 for education).

This model is unique because it is the first Mac to be powered by an iPhone processor rather than the M-series chips found in the Air and Pro models.

  • Processor: A18 Pro chip (6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine).
  • Display: 13-inch Liquid Retina display (2408-by-1506 resolution) with 500 nits brightness and an anti-reflective coating.
  • Battery Life: Up to 16 hours on a single charge.

Configurations and Pricing

  • Base Model ($599): A18 Pro, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD. This model includes a "Lock Key" on the keyboard instead of Touch ID.
  • Upgraded Model ($699): A18 Pro, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD. This model includes Touch ID on the Magic Keyboard.
